Your journey across the Atlantic Ocean brings you to Spain’s capital, Madrid.
DAY 3: MADRID
Welcome to Madrid! View the historic center’s most important monuments and architecture on your morning sightseeing tour. Then feast your eyes on works by artists such as El Greco and Velazquez at the Prado as your local guide gives commentary via personal headsets. Prepare for your first concert this evening.
DAY 4: MADRID
Enjoy an excursion to Toledo this morning. Sightseeing with a local guide and personal headsets includes the stunning Gothic cathedral, historic Medieval Synagogue, and the Church of Santo Tome. Return to Madrid for some free time this afternoon. This evening, take cues from a professional dancer, learning the steps during a flamenco lesson before watching the dancers themselves take the stage to perform a traditional flamenco show.
DAY 5: BARCELONA
This morning depart Madrid aboard the high-speed AVE train to Catalonia’s capital city, Barcelona. Let the city introduce itself during a guided panoramic sightseeing tour, starting the Montjuic Hill, where many Olympic events took place, before a stroll through whimsical Parc Guell.
DAY 6: BARCELONA
The narrow streets of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter are perfect for exploring on your morning Barcelona by bike tour. See the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Eulalia before riding through Barceloneta, a neighborhood known for its sandy beach, and the nearby Olympic Port. This afternoon, prepare for your second performance opportunity.
DAY 7: PROVENCE
Depart Spain and journey across the Pyrenees to France. Stop in the medieval walled city of Carcassonne and explore its well-preserved ramparts and towers, narrow winding streets and 16th century bridge before continuing to Provence, where you’ll overnight.
DAY 8: PROVENCE
Soak in the beauty of your surroundings during this morning’s horseback ride through the Camargue, the picturesque marshy delta region at the mouth of the River Rhone. Then continue to see the authentic medieval ramparts of Aigues-Mortes before contemplating the Roman Empire’s influence in France at the Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct preserved in almost perfect condition.
DAY 9: PARIS
Board the TGV, France’s high-speed train, for Paris this morning. Upon arrival, join a local guide for a sightseeing tour of the city’s most famous sights, from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde, to a photo stop in front of the Eiffel Tower. You’ll also visit Notre Dame on the Ile de la Cite. This afternoon, prepare for your third concert and perform for a Parisian audience.
DAY 10: PARIS
After breakfast, explore the masterpieces of the Louvre. You’ll see the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, two emblems of this enormous museum. This afternoon, enjoy an excursion to the chateau of Versailles, Louis XIV’s elaborate palace. Take some time to stroll through the gardens and expansive grounds before heading back to Paris for your last night of the tour.
DAY 11: RETURN TO THE USA
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the USA.
