DAY 1: OVERNIGHT FLIGHT
Depart the United States today on your 12-day performance tour of Spain and Portugal!
DAY 2: BARCELONA
Arrive in the coastal city of Barcelona, the capital of Cataluna. Take the afternoon to get acquainted with Spain’s most cosmopolitan city. Dinner at a local restaurant.
DAY 3: BARCELONA
Dive into la vida Espanola today with a guided sightseeing tour of Barcelona’s famous sights. Visit the Gothic quarter and Cathedral, and see Gaudi’s still-unfinished masterpiece, Sagrada Familia, and Montjuic Hill. Free time for lunch and independent sightseeing. Dinner at a local restaurant.
DAY 4: BARCELONA
After breakfast, transfer to a local beach for a day of relaxation and sunshine! Return to your hotel to freshen up before dinner, followed by your first concert performance this evening.
DAY 5: MADRID
Travel this morning to Zaragoza, capital of the former Kingdom of Aragón and host of the 2008 World Exposition. After visiting the Basilica in Pilar Square continue to Madrid.
DAY 6: MADRID
A local guide offers a city panorama you won’t forget, from the famous Don Quixote statue to the Cibeles Fountain and Europe’s most elegant post office! A visit to the Prado Museum is also included. On your free afternoon, stroll along the Gran Via, soak up the impressive art of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum or sample the lavish lifestyle of Spain’s Bourbon kings in the Palacio Real. Dinner is followed by your second concert at a local cathedral.
DAY 7: MADRID
Experience the essence of traditional Spain on your excursion to Toledo, where you’ll walk the winding streets to the Gothic Cathedral, the Medieval Synagogue and El Greco’s great painting in the Church of Santo Tome. Free time to wander the streets of Toledo before returning to Madrid for dinner.
DAY 8: SEVILLE
This morning you’ll travel to Seville via high speed train. Check into your hotel and enjoy a special flamenco dinner this evening.
DAY 9: SEVILLE
A local guide introduces this Andalusian capital to you today. Visit the immense Gothic cathedral and see the Giralda Tower and the Alcazar, rich with Seville’s Moorish heritage. This afternoon is free to visit one of the city’s many museums, such as the Museo Arqueologico. Dinner is followed by your final concert performance this evening.
DAY 10: LISBON
Drive through the province of Extremadura, birthplace of Spain’s conquistadores including Cortes, Pizarro and Balboa. Visit Merida, ancient capital of Lusitania, and the city with more Roman ruins than any other in Spain. Cross the sweeping 25th April Suspension Bridge into Lisbon.
DAY 11: LISBON
See the sights of Lisbon, once the capital of the world’s greatest maritime empire, on a guided sightseeing tour. View the Monument of the Discoveries, Alfama district, Rossio Square, St. George’s Castle and Jeronimo’s Monastery. Enjoy afternoon exploration time to wander the city’s cobbled alleys and squares. Special farewell dinner this evening.
DAY 12: RETURN TO THE USA
Departure for the USA.
