Itinerary

DAY 1: OVERNIGHT FLIGHT
Depart on your overnight flight to Italy. Dinner and breakfast served on board.

DAY 2: SORRENTO

Arrive in Rome, meet your Encore Tour Manager and transfer to the delightful seaside town of Sorrento. Orange and lemon groves abound.

DAY 3: SORRENTO

Board a hydrofoil to cross the Bay of Naples to Capri, the Island of Dreams. Upon arriving on the island, take the funicular to the main square, passing subtropical gardens. There is time to wander through the narrow lanes and shop in the tiny artisan stores that line the square. Return to Sorrento in time for your first performance of the trip!

DAY 4: SORRENTO

Today's drive takes you along breathtaking coastline where the corniche winds high above the ocean. Stop briefly at the town of Amalfi. See the wonderful cathedral before continuing to Pompeii, a town preserved under 23 feet of volcanic ash by the eruption of nearby Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Return to Sorrento for the evening.

DAY 5: ROME

Depart Sorrento this morning and travel north to Rome, the “Eternal City.” Upon arrival check into your hotel and spend the afternoon getting acquainted with all that this marvelous city has to offer. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before your evening walking tour of the Piazza Navona and Pantheon.

DAY 6: ROME

Today's sightseeing tour introduces you to every phase of Rome's history with a panoramic drive of the city. In addition, your local guide accompanies you through the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine Chapel, and continues to St. Peter's Basilica, giving commentary via personal headsets. Later this afternoon, travel outside the city walls to nearby Gallicano or Palestrina, where you will perform your second concert. These charming towns outside Rome offer warm reception, wonderful audiences, and fantastic performance venues. Dinner this evening will be served near the location of the concert.

DAY 7: ROME

Travel by high speed train to the Renaissance city of Florence on your full day excursion including sightseeing with a local guide. This tour shows you the magnificent Duomo decorated in pink and green marble, the Baptistery doors of Ghiberti, that Michelangelo claimed were “The doors of Paradise,” and the Accademia, home to Michelangelo’s famous David. Walk along the Ponte Vecchio, which extends over the River Arno. Return to Rome after dinner.

DAY 8: ROME

Enjoy the morning to further explore Rome. Climb the seven hills or stroll the gardens of the Villa Borghese, the options are endless. After some last minute shopping take some time this afternoon to prepare for your concert finale in the heart of Rome. After the concert enjoy a special farewell dinner and reminisce with friends about your week in Italy as you prepare for your journey home.

DAY 9: RETURN TO THE USA

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the USA.
