In collaboration with Diane Linn, Executive Director of the Community Chorus of Detroit, we are delighted to offer "In the Footsteps of Bach’, a glorious trip through Germany celebrating the life and works of J.S. Bach and other great German composers.
The program features a rich array of German culture and music, luxury hotels, excellent regional food and wine as well as an Oktoberfest evening event in Dresden. Musical highlights include a private chamber concert on historic instruments, a private organ recital of Bach works, public choral concerts in Leipzig, behind the scenes at Bluthner piano factory including a recital showcasing the instruments, a private chamber concert at Mendelssohn House, a performance at Semperoper and Dresden’s famous Kreuzchor boys choir. Cultural experiences include a hands-on Thuringian cooking lesson, a photography tour of Dresden, wine tasting, Meissen Porcelain manufactury, Wartburg Castle where Martin Luther translated the New Testament into German and a stunning farewell dinner at Schloss Wackerbarth.
The tour will be limited to 30 participants and includes numerous opportunities not usually available to visitors.
Now only 8 spaces remaining!
I would like to cordially invite you to join us for a fabulous cultural tour of Germany! Having previously run international performance tours with Encore Tours, we are excited about embarking on our first Encore Experience!
Entitled "In the Footsteps of Bach," this experience will be centered in the area where Bach spent much of his life and will focus on experiencing German culture to its fullest. In addition to Bach’s music and several historic sites related to his life, we will enjoy many concerts and visits related to other great German composers, as well as countless German cultural and culinary delights - including Oktoberfest! The tour will be limited to 30 participants (plus leaders), so it will be a small tour group with numerous opportunities not usually available to tourists and large groups.
In addition to the main tour, there are also optional, three-day extensions in either Prague or Berlin. Following the main tour, these extensions will have first-class train tickets to the extension city, a private guided overview tour of the city, deluxe hotels, breakfasts, a bus to the airport for the flight home, and other wonderful surprises. Either of the extensions costs an additional $1,000.
Please share this info with your family and friends who love great music, fascinating history, exquisite German cuisine, and the beauty of some of the most magnificent sites in all of Europe. My husband Thom and I hope to have the pleasure of your company on this grand adventure!
