Arrive in Germany and meet your Encore tour manager at the airport. Transfer to your comfortable hotel to freshen up before embarking on a city sightseeing tour of Berlin with a local guide. Highlights will include all the major landmarks of the German capital including the Brandenburg Gate and much more. This evening, the group will meet for a special welcome dinner together at one of Berlin's many wonderful restaurants. (D)
This morning after breakfast, provided each day of your tour, enjoy a morning visit to Konzerthaus Berlin for a guided tour. This afternoon, you can enjoy some free time; perhaps head to Museum Island where you will be able to choose from the many museums to visit. This evening, enjoy dinner on your own before rejoining the group to attend an evening performance of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (pending availability)! (B)
Check out of the hotel this morning and transfer to Leipzig. Your first visit will be to Thomaskirche, the church where Bach worked as Kapellmeister from 1723 until his death in 1750. After an exclusive private tour, you'll have a chance to learn from the current choirmaster before experiencing an organ recital at the Thomaskirche (subject to availability and recital schedule). This evening, you will attend a performance in Leipzig, such as a chamber concert in the Mendelssohn Hall of the Gewandhaus. Dinner will be independent this evening. (B)
This morning’s guided tour of historic Leipzig will include visits to the Mendelssohn Haus and the Grassi Museum with its famous instrument collection. After a busy morning, journey out to Halle where you will visit the Marktkirche (where Handel received his first organ lessons) and the Handel Haus. This morning, depart for Dresden, the “Florence on the Elbe” where you will see the city’s highlights including the historical capital and royal residence for the Electors and Kings of Saxony who for centuries furnished the city with cultural and artistic splendor. Following heavy bombing during World War II and 40 years as a Soviet Bloc state, the city has undergone considerable restoration work to bring it to its current state. Since German reunification in 1990, Dresden has emerged as a cultural, political, and economic center in the eastern part of Germany. Today, we will have an opportunity for a meet and greet with a music director at the Semperoper, subject to availability, as well as a visit to one of the cozy Radebeul vineyard wineries to sample exquisite wines along the picturesque hillsides sloping down to the Elbe! Tonight, you'll attend a performance this evening. Options include a music performance in Semperoper or a concert performance at the Frauenkirche Dresden (pending availability). Today's destination is Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. On arrival, enjoy a walking tour of the city’s highlights followed by a guided visit of the Czech Museum of Music and short lecture by a local musician. Enjoy dinner on your own this evening. (B)
After breakfast, you will journey out to Vysoka u Pribrami to visit the Dvorak Memorial and enjoy an exclusive private chamber concert. After lunch on your own, return to Prague and visit the Antonín Dvorák Museum, where you will learn more about the life of this magnificent Czech composer. Tonight, attend a performance at the National Theatre Prague! Options include Janacek’s opera: Katya Kabanova. Dinner is on your own. (B)
On your final morning, you will visit the Bedrich Smetana Museum, dedicated to the life and works of this famous Czech composer. Afterwards, visit the Estate's Theater where Mozart's Don Giovanni premiered! Here, enjoy a guided tour and private chamber concert. Following time for lunch on your own, you'll participate in a meet and greet with a musician of the Czech Philharmonic. On our final European evening, we will attend a performance by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra (pending availability).
