Encore Live: Mack the Knife and the Wild Years of Berlin (Part 2)

In the conclusion of Encore Live: Mack the Knife & the Wild Years of Berlin, Tour Manager Markus Stuckelberger will take us through the dramatic and hilarious events leading up to the triumphant first night of The Threepenny Opera. Markus traces the different destinies of the artists brought together for the creation of this original masterpiece and torn apart by the outbreak of war.

Following composer Kurt Weill from Paris to America, we see his music takes on a new color and a new life. The conclusion of this two-part event features an in-depth examination of Germany after World War I, a detailed analysis of the musical structure of Weill’s “Mackie Messer,” and a rendition of “Mack the Knife” performed by Markus’ band.
