What to Bring

Remember, most Encore trips do not provide porterage. It’s crucial to pack wisely, as you’ll be handling your own luggage through various travel stages. Opt for luggage with wheels to ease your travels.

Packing Tips:

  • Aim to pack only what you need. A good strategy is to lay out all your items, then halve them.
  • You’re allowed one suitcase and one carry-on on flights and buses. Ensure your carry-on fits under the seat.
  • Stay organized: Download our packing list, double-check it, and embark on your adventure with peace of mind.

How to Pack Smartly

Choose a lightweight suitcase with wheels, adhering to airline weight limits and luggage tags with your contact info. Before leaving, list your suitcase’s contents to aid in any potential insurance claims. Note that TGV and overnight trains have limited luggage space, requiring you to keep your luggage close.

Dealing with Lost or Stolen Luggage

Your luggage is your responsibility. Should it get lost during flights, immediately file a claim with the airline’s lost-luggage office. For stolen luggage, a police report is necessary for insurance coverage under the Ultimate or Comprehensive Protection Plan.

Using Electric Appliances Abroad

In Europe and Argentina, the electric current is 220 volts, not the 110 volts standard in the U.S. Invest in dual-voltage appliances or converters to ensure compatibility.

Cathedral Etiquette

Respect dress codes in cathedrals; avoid shorts, skirts above the knee, and sleeveless tops. Women may consider bringing a light skirt and scarf for coverage.

  1. Thank You: the packing list is very helpful. Since our group is booked for 11 days, I’m assuming we will be able to laundry once or twice since it is suggested that we travel light….

  2. I use a CPAP every night to sleep. Can I travel with my machine in it’s own case and not have it count as one of my pieces of luggage?

    1. Yes, you can absolutely travel with your CPAP machine in its own case, and it will not count toward your carry-on or personal item limit. The TSA classifies CPAP machines as medical devices, so airlines are required to allow them as an additional item. Just be prepared to take the machine out of its case for screening at security.
