After one singer returned from her Encore Tours trip to Ireland, she sent us this wonderful letter about her experience! We wanted to share her comments with our readers to highlight the impact that a high-quality, expertly-executed performance tour can have on your musicians. Read Charlene’s letter below: Dear Encore Tours Staff, I recently returned from an Encore Choral Tour of Ireland with Dr. Sean Boulware and the California Central Coast Chorale. I want to convey my huge thanks to you for your part in making this a most excellent experience. The organization of the tour, the itinerary, the accommodations and the meals were all top notch! The singing experiences were absolutely thrilling. Most especially, I would like to commend Stan Pretty, our Tour Manager, and our coach driver, Gerry, for their outstanding part in this tour experience. “The organization of the tour, the itinerary, the accommodations and the meals were all top notch! The singing experiences were absolutely thrilling.” Gerry was masterful at guiding our bus through the streets, broad and narrow, of Ireland. I can often be a rather nervous passenger but Gerry inspired confidence. He was always punctual and gallant in his assistance with boarding and deboarding our coach. His good humor and his rapport with us and our tour director was so appreciated. Stan Pretty was equally an outstanding representative of your organization. Stan’s sonorous Shakespearean voice was a treat and his vast knowledge of the history and culture of Ireland was delivered in a digestible and interesting manner. We all appreciated the “tight ship” that Stan ran, how he kept us to schedule and how he was available and approachable. A tour director can “make or break” a tour. Stan was definitely on the “make” end of the continuum. Thank you for everything the Encore staff did to make this tour come to fruition. The result of your efforts was enjoyed by all on our tour. Best wishes for continued success with your business of sending music around the world. Sincerely,Charlene
