Top 5 Things to Do in Paris

Paris is the city of lights, and there is no shortage of things to do and see here.  I wanted to share with everyone my top 5 things to do in Paris.  These are things that I have been fortunate enough to do and are well worth considering if you are on your way to Paris!!!

5.) The Arc De Triomphe

This is one of the best places in Paris to view this spectacular city.  While standing on top of the Arc De Triomphe, you can see the old city as well as the new part of the city.  Being one of the most iconic sites in all of Paris, this is a most for anyone going to Paris, and the best way to try and understand the chaos of driving in such a big city!

4.) The Orsay Museum

This museum is built in the former Gare d’Orsay, a railway station that was built from 1898-1915.  This museum is home to such artist as Renoir, Van Gogh, Monet, and many more.  This is a great way to spend your day seeing work by some of the most influential artist of the world.  It is also a great way to step back in time and to appreciate the architecture from the 1900’s.

3.) Notre Dame Cathedral

There are no shortages of stunning cathedrals in Paris, but my absolute favorite is Notre Dame.  This has to be the best sample of French Gothic Architecture.  The construction of this Cathedral was started in 1163 and still brings in tourist every day to see the wonders of such a stunning structure.  The history, the power, and the impressiveness of this Cathedral make it one of the best places to see while in Paris.

2.) The Louvre

This is one of the most famous museums in the world, and for great reason.  I have been lucky enough to have visited the Louvre on several occasions, and I still haven’t seen the entire museum.  You could spend days walking around the Louvre and leave with much of the museum unseen.

1.) Eiffel Tower

Of course the number one thing to do in Paris is to go inside the Eiffel Tower.  Probably the most iconic image of Paris, the Eiffel Tower receives hundreds of million visitors each year, and there is good reason why.  Paris is a city of romance and there is no better place to feel the power of Paris than at the base of the Eiffel Tower.  A must see for anyone in Paris!!!
