The Real Ambassadors recently returned from their Olympic performance tour in London, where they performed twice to thousands of people on the main stage of the Olympic Park, and then again at the base of the iconic London Eye. This group of young jazz musicians is an extremely talented ensemble, and it was truly a pleasure to work with them. This tour was unique in many ways. The London Olympic Committee of the Olympic Games made their final decisions on May 21st regarding which very select groups they would accept for performances in the heart of the Olympic Park. We at Encore Tours had a very limited time frame to put this tour together— two months, to be exact. Thankfully, the Real Ambassadors were on board, and we all worked hard together to make this happen! Sending a group to a world-class event such as the Olympics was an incredibly exciting project. Encore works with other prestigious music festivals and important events around the world. For example, we’re thrilled to now have connections to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin for marching bands! What an amazing experience it would be to march alongside bands from all over the world through the streets of Dublin on what is the most important holiday in Ireland. We’ve also had groups perform in important orchestral festivals such as the Smetana Festival in Litomysl, the Mahler Festival in Jihlava, Czech Republic and the Granada International Music Festival in Spain. Performing abroad is brought to a whole new level when your ensemble is part of a festival, parade, or even the Olympics! If you are looking for a centerpiece event for your tour, we can make it happen!
