Bienvenidos a Mexico! Depart from the US today and arrive in Mexico City. Meet your Encore Tour Manager and transfer to your comfortable hotel. After check-in and a tour briefing, take a walk together and stroll past the Palacio de Bellas Artes and down the Paseo de la Reforma. Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner as a group at the hotel. (D)

This morning, your local guide will introduce you to Mexico City during a sightseeing tour. As one of the world’s biggest and most populated metropolis; Mexico City has more museums than any other city in the world, as well as colorful markets, and magnificent avenues full of fancy boutiques, coffee shops and art galleries. Continue to the suburb of Coyoacan, where Frida Kahlo lived. This afternoon, transfer to a local venue where you will perform your debut concert performance! Enjoy dinner together. (B,D)

Today’s excursion brings you to the Teotihuacan pyramid complex, famous for its pyramids and their relation to the stars. The so-called City of the Gods, Teotihuacan preserves the remains of one of the most important civilizations in Mesoamerica. Walk along Dead Avenue, the ancient main street that runs over 1.5 miles and see the Quetzalcoatl Temple and other notable buildings. Enjoy dinner on your own tonight. (B)

Discover Puebla today, a city founded on Catholicism, it is home to over 70 churches and cathedrals, and its city center is one of the best preserved in the world. Today it is a hub for young artists and creative types. This afternoon, check into your hotel. Then rehearse for tonight’s concert performance! Enjoy dinner together. (B,D)

This morning, participate in a local mass service at one of the cathedrals in Puebla. Then journey to Cholula, a ceremonial town dedicated to Quetzalcoatl, one of the major deities of the Aztecs and Toltecs. Cholula is also known for the Great Pyramid, larger even than the great pyramids at Giza. So overgrown with vegetation, however, it’s difficult to recognize as a pyramid. You’ll then visit Atlixco, a charming colonial city known for its production of ornamental plants and cut flowers. Enjoy dinner on your own tonight. (B)

This morning, have time to explore Puebla at your own pace. Then transfer to the elegant city of Oaxaca this afternoon. Check into your hotel and have time for dinner on your own. (B)

A walking tour shows you the old colonial center of the city, including the main square and focus of life in the city where you’ll find street performers and vendors selling everything from souvenirs to fruit juices. You will also see the Governor’s Palace, the Cathedral and the extravagant church of Santo Domingo. This afternoon is free to stroll along the Macedonio de Alcale pedestrian shopping street, the best place to find Oaxacan silver and textiles. This evening, rehearse for your next concert performance. Enjoy dinner together. (B,D)

A day trip today brings you to Monte Alban, an impressive Zapotec city built high on a leveled hilltop. Continue on to Arrazola, home of woodcarvers and painters who produce the whimsical, boldly-painted patterned animals so closely associated with Mexican art.
