4 Days / 3 Chicago

Board your deluxe coach bus this morning for the ride to Chicago. Arrive in the Windy City, meet your Encore Tour Manager and check in to your hotel. Relax and enjoy dinner at the hotel tonight followed by a Game Show Mania event and DJ Dance. Game Show Mania includes a dynamic, engaging host who will bring your students and chaperones/teachers up on stage as contestants. In groups of 4 or more they will be asked to stand behind electronic podiums and prepare to answer questions in a friendly round of competition. The system comes complete with digital scoring, lock out buzzers, and bright and fun lighting. Game Show questions are prepared in advance and selected from a huge library of trivia questions that fall into categories such as; current events, television, radio, hit songs, sports etc. Additionally, groups are strongly encouraged to submit customized questions in advance to incorporate into the show.

After breakfast, provided each morning at your hotel, take a guided bus/walking tour of Chicago’s famous sites and historic places. Then, head to one of the tallest buildings in the world, the Willis Tower, where you’ll have your first performance in the lobby. After the concert, ride the elevator up to experience Skydeck Chicago with aerial views that span over 50 miles and four states on a clear day. Step out on The Ledge if you dare and feel the city from 103 floors over Wacker Drive and the Chicago River. This afternoon take a guided tour of Orchestra Hall. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Orchestra Hall is home of the world-famous Chicago Symphony Orchestra and part of the larger Symphony Center, which also contains a restaurant and a rehearsal space. In addition to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Hall features jazz, pop, chamber, and world music concerts. Tonight, have dinner as a group and then return to Orchestra Hall to hear the world-reknowned CSO in concert.

This morning visit the magnificent Shedd Aquarium. With 32,000 animals to meet (and dozens to touch!), award-winning exhibits to explore and in-depth, hands-on activities to try, the possibilities are almost endless. Later, transfer to the nearby Field Museum of Natural History where you’ll have your second performance. Following the concert, explore 4.6 billion years of history and meet Sue, the most complete and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex fossil yet discovered – 40 feet long, 12 feet high and 67 million years old. Tonight enjoy dinner as a group and see a show! Possibilities include a Broadway performance or Blue Man Group.

This morning visit the Art Institute of Chicago in beautiful Grant Park. Founded in 1879, the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the United States. Recognized for its popularity among visitors, the museum hosts approximately 1.5 million guests annually. Its collection includes iconic works such as Georges Seurat’s A Sunday on La Grande Jatte 1884, Pablo Picasso’s The Old Guitarist, Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks, and Grant Wood’s American Gothic. After lunch on your own, board your coach or flight for the return trip home.
