Guadix is a small city just outside Granada. The Cathedral is located in the heart of the community and was built on the site of a Moorish Mosque. Construction of the cathedral began in 1549, but it was not completed until the mid-eighteenth century. Due to the fact that construction took so long, the church incorporates three distinct styles of architecture: the Gothic and Renaissance styles of the bulk of the building are complemented by the addition of a splendid Baroque façade. The cathedral’s imposing architecture would be the perfect backdrop for any choral performance. Granada
