Marin Držić Theatre, established in 1865, is Dubrovnik’s premier performance venue, named after the renowned Renaissance playwright. The theater’s interior features a painted ceiling by Vlaho Bukovac, depicting the “Heavenly and Earthly Coronation,” and a festive curtain adorned with motifs of Dubrovnik’s city life, created by contemporary artist Matko Trebotić. With seating for approximately 350 guests, the theater offers an intimate setting with excellent acoustics, making it ideal for ensemble performances.
