St. Emeric Church

St. Imre’s Church, also known as St. Emeric Church, is a Neo-Romanesque parish built from local basalt stone, giving it the distinctive nickname “Dark Church.” Constructed in the early 1930s and dedicated to St. Emeric, its bright interior contrasts with the dark exterior and features striking panels by Erzsébet Udvardi, including “The Last Supper” and “Resurrection.” With excellent acoustics, St. Imre’s offers choirs a resonant, inspiring space for performance.
