Join us in June 2027 for a special journey to Germany, designed exclusively for patrons of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem. Centered around BachFest Leipzig, this experience offers the opportunity to attend performances featuring the Bach Choir while exploring the cities most closely connected to J.S. Bach’s life and legacy.

Thoughtfully developed in alignment with the Bach Choir’s BachFest participation, this program creates a shared experience for patrons that complements the choir’s time in Leipzig. Along the way, enjoy opportunities to connect with fellow patrons and members of the Bach Choir community, alongside guided visits to Thomaskirche, the Bach Archive, and the Mendelssohn House, as well as an exclusive organ presentation at the Frauenkirche in Dresden.

Balancing festival performances, cultural exploration, and time at leisure, this journey has been designed to offer a meaningful and enriching experience for our patron community.

What is BachFest Leipzig?

BachFest Leipzig is one of the world’s leading festivals dedicated to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, held each year in the city where he lived and worked. The festival brings together internationally renowned ensembles, artists, and scholars for a series of performances and events across historic venues throughout Leipzig.

During your time in Leipzig, you will have the opportunity to experience the festival atmosphere and attend performances, including those featuring the Bach Choir of Bethlehem.

Itinerary

10 Days

Day 1 Overnight Flight

Depart from Newark Airport on your overnight flight to Berlin.

Day 2 Dresden

Arrive in Berlin and meet your Encore Tour Manager. Board your private deluxe motorcoach and transfer to Dresden for afternoon hotel check-in and time to refresh before a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (D)

Day 3 Dresden

After breakfast, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Dresden with a local expert. Continue with a visit to the Frauenkirche, including an exclusive organ presentation by the resident organist. This afternoon, visit the Green Vault. Lunch and dinner will be on your own. (B)

Day 4 Leipzig

Depart for Leipzig this morning. En route, visit Meissen for a guided tour of the renowned Porcelain Factory. Continue to Leipzig and check into your hotel. This evening, enjoy a cocktail reception with Executive Director Leela Breithaupt and Artistic Director Christopher Jackson. Dinner will be on your own. (B)

Day 5 Leipzig

Enjoy a guided exploration of Leipzig this morning, including Thomaskirche and the Bach Archive. At Thomaskirche, the Musical Director will host a special introduction, offering insight into Bach’s legacy and the church’s musical tradition. The remainder of the day is yours to explore at your own pace or attend BachFest Leipzig performances. Dinner will be on your own. (B)

Day 6 Leipzig

This morning, return to the Bach Archive for a deeper exploration of its collections. The remainder of the day is yours to explore at your own pace or attend BachFest Leipzig performances. Lunch and dinner will be on your own. (B)

Day 7 Leipzig

This morning after breakfast at your hotel, enjoy an optional full-day excursion to Eisenach, the birthplace of Johann Sebastian Bach. As special guests of the Bach House Eisenach Museum, enjoy an exclusive visit celebrating Bach festivals worldwide, including the Bach Choir of Bethlehem’s festival, the oldest continuously running celebration of Bach’s works. There will be time in Eisenach for lunch on your own before returning to Leipzig for dinner at your leisure and a free evening. (B)

Day 8 Leipzig

Today is yours to experience BachFest Leipzig at your leisure, including opportunities to attend performances featuring the Bach Choir of Bethlehem and other festival concerts. Lunch and dinner will be on your own. (B)

Day 9 Leipzig

Today is yours to continue enjoying BachFest Leipzig, including performances featuring the Bach Choir of Bethlehem and other festival events. This evening, celebrate your experience with a special farewell dinner reception with members and staff of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem. (B, D)

Day 10 Departure

Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the United States. (B)

Thoughtfully designed to complement the Bach Choir’s participation in the festival, the program fosters a shared and enriching experience among patrons. In Leipzig, highlights include guided visits to the Thomaskirche, where Bach served as cantor, the Bach Archive Leipzig, and other significant sites tied to his work and influence.

The journey begins in Dresden and includes cultural excursions, private gatherings, and exceptional dining. Highlights feature a visit to the Mendelssohn House, as well as a special organ presentation at the Frauenkirche Dresden. Along the way, there will be opportunities to connect with fellow patrons and members of the Bach Choir community, as well as time to explore independently.

Our Patron experience concludes with a celebratory dinner alongside members of the Bach Choir.
